overcast is a short story-based fantasy role playing game created by emma hsiao.
it was inspired by her ongoing dungeons and dragons campaign, "the eastwind inquisitors".
the story takes place in eastshire, a stormy city on the coast of the continent of iporis.

design plan
The 3 pillars of gameplay will be exploration, negotiation, and combat. 
I'm planning to fill the game world (eastshire) with plenty of secret locations and hard to reach places.  In addition, mobility will be a pretty big part of the fighting mechanic as well.
Because the game has a focus in political intrigue and factions, I decided to use the card swipe decision mechanic found in games like "reigns" and "lapse".  I felt that this would give negotiations and conversations more weight to them than tapping text boxes on a screen.
I'm thinking of making the combat system into a bullet hell similar to chillyroom's "soul knight".
